Most of us want to be better people with better lives, whatever we define that as.  Financial freedom, loving relationships, physical fitness, education/career success, self worth, and forgiveness are some of the more commonly sought after improvements.  We know that becoming better requires that we take action.
In addition, consistent and deep inner work is required because we cannot create new lives with old thoughts.  We must adjust our self talk, adopt new beliefs, and create new patterns so the environment in our mind becomes fertile to supports our goals.
But what happens when you’re doing all you can do and you’re goal hasn’t materialized?
Take weight loss as an example.
You’re on it! You no longer tell yourself you’re fat and ugly, you tell yourself the truth now. You’re beautiful and the universe conspires to help you when you help yourself.  You are exercising and eating well.  You’ve been at it for weeks, but the dream thieves have started grumbling.
Thoughts like, “I should be further along.  I’ll never make it. This whole idea that the mind is powerful enough to create any change just isn’t true.  If I’m so capable of creating my dreams, why do I still look like this?”
Take over the ambient soundtrack of your mind.  What you choose to do next will dictate the failure or success of  your current effort and it will color all other life endeavors.
At this critical moment we must remember something my dear friend and Rockstar at life, Rev. Cheryl Ward puts so perfectly,
“We cannot microwave change.”
Although we are often unable to see it, all things are in Divine order and progressing rightly.  Nature illustrates this concept magnificently;  Fall does not turn to Spring when we are adamant that we’ve had enough chilly weather, the seeds we planted in the garden yesterday are not blossoms today no matter how hard we wish they were, the child we cannot wait to meet will not emerge full-formed and ready for the world half-way through pregnancy just because we will it to.

There is no limit to what you can create, achieve, or transform and change takes its own time.

The opportunity here is to learn faith, patience, and wisdom.  Stay the course and trust that:

All is in Divine right order, even when you can’t perceive it.  Do your part and surrender the rest to the power responsible for beating your heart and suspending the planets in the sky.
