Truly great success is not the product of becoming good at something one is innately mediocre at. Great success is the result of becoming excellent at something one is naturally good at.
We tend to seek to improve the things we are weakest at because we want to cure the perceived inadequacy. At best, we will improve and become better at a given task, but we will never be great at it. This approach serves us up to the point that we become competent in written expression, general mathematics and are oriented to the world. Beyond basic knowledge, however there is little benefit to focusing on improving the things we aren't talented at when, instead, we could channel that same effort and energy to the things we are naturally good at and become spectacular successes.
We all have innate gifts and strengths. The most important step in securing your success is to discover yours and get to work becoming the best at what you are already good at. Your excellence will bring you success, satisfaction and fulfillment. The ensuing sense of happiness and purpose you'll feel will create a better world for us all.
