“An optimist is a person who sees only the lights in the picture,
whereas a pessimist sees only the shadows.
An idealist, however, is one who sees the light and the shadows,
but in addition sees something else:
the possibility of changing the picture, of making the lights
prevail over the shadows.” –Unknown
The act of opening up to possibility opens up the floodgates of undiscovered solutions. We tend to fall into habitual thinking patterns, assume we know all there is to know about a situation and are able to predict every outcome.
In truth, there are countless perspectives to view a situation from and we never know all there is to know.
Believing otherwise is naïve and arrogant.
Surrendering to possibility is an admission that we do not know everything and cannot see the future. It is also an invitation for newer, higher, yet unknown solutions, opportunities and synchronicities to emerge.
When you think you’re in an impossible situation, take a moment to acknowledge that although you do not consciously know how to solve the problem, a solution exists and you’re open to receiving it.
Don’t underestimate the power of this simple shift. I credit it with the resolution of several “impossible problems”!

Great insight Cynthia! You are so right in that there are always multiple viewpoints to stand from in any given situation. We have to have the courage and strength to be willing to surrender to a new way of looking at life and our obstacles, and in turn gain immeasurable wisdom!
Thank you!
Brilliantly said, Laurinda!
I absolutely love your posts Cynthia. This was such an appropriate one for today not only for me but for some friends of mine. Thanks so much for some great inspiration for a Friday!
Jonathan – I really appreciate you reading and sharing my writings. Thank you for your feedback. It lets me know that I’m on purpose 🙂
Admitting we don't know everything – how liberating that is! If I can just accept that I am not superwoman and don't have to have the answers for every problem that darkens my door – well I'm half-way there, aren't I?
Thank you for another wonderful, insightful post, Cynthia.
Cynthia…I have been very stressed, and up and down about having to find a loving, forever home for my 11 year old beautiful Manx cat since I'm moving to Australia soon. My son just tonight told me to breathe and let the universe attend to it because it will give us what we need and want. Reading your post reminded me to let go and let God, because I don't need to have all the answers, be always in control, and dance to anyone else's tune. Thanks so much..namaste.
My FAVORITE kitty of all time was a Manx, more dog than cat, I loved him so much. I can imagine the stress of needing to place him in a home caring enough that you’re able to find rest. That seems huge, impossible, stressful. The truth is it is simple. It just takes ONE right home. That home exists, undoubtedly. I join you in holding the space to locate it. Fill that space with creativity, ideas and discovery, not upset!
This speaks volumns to what my family and I are dealing with now! Keeping fear and all it's negative chatter away is a big part of what perpetuates the so-called impossible problem. Thank you so much for sharing the light!

Bless you, Helen. I stand in the space of a solution with you.
