Are You Prepared?

Most success results from the conflux, or flowing together, of a great opportunity and a person able to seize it.

Opportunities abound. We needn’t concern ourselves, it is the natural work of the universe.

Our responsibility is to do the daily work of becoming prepared for the opportunities we desire.

If your ideal work, lover or venture presented itself to you today, would you be ready?

Some examples:

If Mr. Right shows up while you’re still hanging out with Mr. Wrong, you won’t be the person you need to be to build a strong relationship.

If you dream of being a writer, but spend no time writing, when the opportunity comes to write, you won’t have the experience you’ll need.

If you fancy one day quitting your job to pursue your passion, but you save no money and fail to study people/businesses who are successful at doing what you want to do, when an amazing opportunity shows up, you won’t recognize it, let alone be able to capitalize on it.

If you see yourself slinking down a tropical beach feeling vibrant, magnetic and sexy, but you’re sitting at a desk eating muffins, take-out and pound cake, when the opportunity to go to paradise arises you’ll dread the beach.

The flaw is to believe that we will get ourselves together when the opportunity presents itself. It will be too late then.

Moreover, when we live a half life, waiting for a reason to change, we waste today (the only thing we ever really have).

Highlighting our backward thinking even more is the fact that by preparing for opportunities desired, but unseen, the Universe will create an endless supply of them and send them to your doorstep (often quite literally, oh do I have stories!).

Let this summer be the one when everything changed. The one when you took note of your dreams and prepared yourself to receive them.

Let this be the summer that you stopped making excuses. You used discipline. You fell back into old, unwanted habits and you got back up, walking determinedly to your desired state of being.

Get prepared.
