great article Cynthia, can relate. so can death of the old life be messy going out. Recently helped my furry best friend of 17 years over to peace bridge, buried him myself too. His last months to weeks were very messy, but Oscar’s love grew greater as he sensed he was going to go with the best of love from me. Having had a child too, yes, it is messy coming into life, and messy going out, whether it’s physical, spiritual or emotional. But as a fave writer singer of my time, Leonard Cohen says ” Ring the bells that still can ring, there is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.”
