When I was a child, I thought angels were luminescent beings with flowing hair and wings who flitted around gracing those lucky enough to earn their favor. My view changed when my world collapsed around me.
In the midst of bad getting worse, I was supported, lifted and sheltered by people who happened to appear when I needed them most. Sometimes their blessings were small, a smile, a door held open, the offer of coins for a parking meter. Other blessings were substantial and came from angels impersonating experts, doctors, and lawyers who dramatically changed my life. One of my favorite Angels, a pastor from Indiana, somehow found me through the internet, when I had no blog and just when I was wondering if God even liked me.
Angels are people like you and me. At each moment we possess the power to make others better. Every time we come in contact with another, there is an opportunity to positively impact their life. You may never know how significant the impacts of simple gestures of love and kindness are; be assured they are profound.
When I imagine my darkest night without the Angels, I am not certain I could have survived. Such is the magnitude of the power you wield.
~ Cynthia
You never know who may be an angel. That's why it's important to keep your ears, eyes, and mind open to all possibilities, and never let go of the wonder of life.

I think you're an angel, Laura. It is amazing how many I've met here.Cynthia

Hi Cynthia,I thank you again for asking to post my poem. You are so right about angels…..My youngest son Judd,is my angel, too…..he was only 9 when my ex husband left our family, but he would place notes under my door, telling me he loved me and that everything would be all right. I don't know what I would have done without his love and presence. We can be angels for each person we come in contact with…..I appreciate you and your kindness.Love,Wendy

Beautiful Story! I think that I have met several "Angels" in my life that have helped when I have needed it. I always try to help others when I can because we are all here to do the best we can and share what we can.
Thanks for sharing this poem/story!
Best Regards,
Coralie

How well this Blog meshes in with the one you wrote about how we all have an impact in this world of ours – what better way to have that impact than to be someone's angel?
And to think, so often, our angels don't even know they are being angels at the time? The email that arrives just when you are about to fall in a sobbing heap on the floor. The phone call or the Facebook message that comes your way just when you need it the most.
Oh and let's not forget your wonderfully inspiring Blogs, Cynthia. This is certainly your way of being an angel to so many people

God bless all the angels in our lives, and may we each strive to become angels every day.

Cynthia… I love your Inspired Living book – you wrote about the things that I believe and incorporate into my own life.
I learned as my mom's Care Giver that even when we KNOW information, the challenges of caring can be blinders to the truth of who I AM.
It takes human angels, folks like you, to offer a word that triggers my memory and helps me pull myself out of the hole of despair.
Thank you!
Sue
Thank you, Sue, your comment is so kind. I too spent some time as a caregiver. It was the MOST challenging thing I’ve ever done. Bless you for your service and YES do the work necessary to stay grounded in the truth of who you are. My heart is with you.

Dear Cynthia,
Today in our community a young man is missing. He left a suicide note to his parents and has disappeared. My heart is aching. I am so hoping that someone without even realizing it may help save this boys life. A smile, a conversation, a helping hand, some kind of acknowledgment to him that he matters and is loved and can be helped……….an angel. Nicki
Nicki – I hope this turned out well. I’m so sorry to hear of it.

I could not agree with you more Cynthia. There is a scripture in the bible and I refer to it often. You never know who God puts in front of you. I have seen it over and over again. Not only of how God gets you through, but also, what you do for others, even when people do not impress you enough to pay attention to their needs. Here it is:
Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it. — Hebrews 13:2, The Bible
Rabab – I used this scripture as my status on my FB fanpage and it resonated with so many people. Yes, God puts Angels in out path all the time, like you.

Cynthia,
Update: The young man checked himself into a hospital out of state. He was very disoriented. He kept telling the doctors that he was going to the ocean and wanted to find a place to kill himself……but he could not find the ocean. He was in the Seattle area. I KNOW he was helped by angels along the way. Nicki
Thank you for checking back in Nicki. This news is FAR better than it could be. Bless him and you for holding such a loving space for him. You are one of the Angels 🙂
