I love it when I hear that it worked out. AND you are blessed to have left all of those things. Any one of them is a challenge, but all of them together is unimaginable. Brilliant, comforting and so helpful! I agree on all your points and really can’t think of any additions…….you have summed it all up beautifully! I went through a tumultuous divorce in 2003 from the love of my life who descended into depression, alcoholism and drug use, compiled with an affair towards the last year or so of our marriage. It was a shock when I realized I knew nothing about our finances and he had been in charge and it was a mess. Thankfully I had a good job and wonderful, supportive friends and family to help me through. It’s so important that young women not rely on a man financially! One thing I wish I knew about love is probably that it’s not a fairytale. It’s hard work and sometimes you won’t see eye to eye on everything but as long as your hearts in the right place and you don’t give up when life isn’t perfect, than you’ll be ok.
