A couple of years ago, I took a course at USTLA (Agape’s University) taught by Rev. Michael Beckwith and Rev. Cheryl Ward.  The focus of the class was the study of ancient wisdom and modern spirituality.  Invariably, the discussion turned what impact feeling unhappy, resentful, angry or negative had on our lives.
Rev. Michael teaches, “The universe responds to the nature of your song.”  In other words the quality of our thoughts and actions, whether light-filled or loathsome, will draw to us people, things and experiences that harmonize or match them.  Wanting to live happier lives, the class was eager to change the atmosphere and content of their minds.
Rev. Cheryl, one of the wisest women I know, explained that the negative mind is like a bucket filled with clouded water.  It’s muddled and unclear, but whenever we give love (self love expressly included), kindness, compassion or embrace the Divine, drops of perfectly pristine water land in the clouded bucket and in time the bucket overflows displacing the sullied waters and, if we maintain our practice of bringing light into the world, a full bucket of pure clean water will result.
A clear, love-filled mind is a powerful force imbued with unlimited possibility.

The point of power is always right now and it is never too late to begin again.
