Victoria Chapman it may seem paradoxical, but when you fall in love with yourself (cultivate by behaving as if you already are) you will not have this sense of need any longer.
In reply to Corinne.

Corinne - I've thought of you often since you posted your reply. I work hard at refraining from speaking where I may do damage or lack understanding. I feel that caution here. You've been through so much. I want to reiterate my encouragement to seek help, both professional and spiritual. I am willing to share MY beliefs with you about challenge in life and the world. To me, we are spiritual beings having a human experience, what we call death is waking up to our true life. The source of lasting love, compassion and care is in God and the channel to God is within. I place little emotion on the outward disappointments I encounter in others. I trust they are on their path and doing the best they can with what they know. If they knew better, they'd do better. That's the extent of the upset I give to it. Turn away from that and go within. Don't feed the monsters. When someone treats you badly and you carry it along with you, you become the source of the upset. They aren't doing anything anymore. Let go of expectation. One can't be let down where one expects nothing. Lingering anger demands professional help, it is an appropriate stage of grief, but not a destination. YOU MUST GET THAT HELP. There is a life on the other side of this anger and pain. You are as worthy and loved by God as any other person alive. Though you may feel abandoned and unloved it isn't true. Ask God to meet you right where you are, pray "Thy will be done," and surrender all ideas of tests, failure and destiny. The Infinite is bound by nothing. Call it forth to walk with you now.

If you have a chance tomorrow evening, tune into www.Agapelive.com and watch Dr. Michael Beckwith's service, it streams free. His teachings helped me through a very dark time in my own life. Also, if you are open, read Wayne Dyer's "A Spiritual Solution to Every Problem" I credit my practice of his teachings with a miracle in my life. If you cannot afford it, I will mail it to you.

I hope something I've said resonates with you. Please get professional support.

Cynthia, Thankyou <3 I am in touch with support groups and other mothers, it is your wise spiritual advice I am in need of. I am so concerned that my previous spiritual heart has been damaged by this, I don't mind the ache in my heart but I do not want to be consumed by hate and anger. I have through this experience been treated really badly by friends and family members, some have been horribly cruel and that believe it or not is what hurts me most as it has shown me how cruel and selfish people can be.... ths is not just me, other cancer sufferers have told me how bad ly they have been treated. It is so unbelievable that it makes me feel like it is part of a grand design to test me and I am so sad to feel I am losing to anger and hate so if there are any wise words for my soul I would be most grateful x x x

Corinne -

First, I'm so sorry that the burdens you've encountered are so heavy. As a mother, I can't begin to understand or imagine what you are going through. I do understand how you can feel angry and flat out pissed off at All That Is. I strongly encourage you to reach out for as much support as you can. This is the time that a great psychotherapist can really help. Also, finding a group of other families, online or ideally in person, who have and are dealing with family members with brain tumors. You have much to express and understand about you and your life. You need help to do this. Please search for the resources to make this happen.

As a mother, I know you cannot give up on your son, I could not either. There is a body of encouraging research indicating that cancer cells grow the fastest on sugar and carbs and several cancers have halted growth when a person switched to a Vegan/alkaline diet. Look into it and see what you think.

I know things about life and Spirit and normally I would expound, but my intuition tells me that it won't serve you now. It would only inspire more anger. I want to help not harm. Just know there is hope for you. I send you love and implore you to take the brave act of getting the help you need.

Bless you,

Cynthia

Dear Cynthia, I am glad I found your blog, its very touching and maybe I will find the answer to my troubles here? I am at the moment angry and bitter at everything and thrashing around inside trying to find a positive way out.

I am almost 50 and have not had an easy life, my father commited suicide on Christmas Day, when I was 2 and this tragedy seems to have become the theme to my life, don't get me wrong I am aware that my suffering has given me great gifts of understanding and kindness to others but I am so tired now after being abused in childhood and all the years it took to find a positive growing attitude to that I believed I am here to turn 'shit into flowers' I have 3 beautiful kind sons that have or are growing into very decent men I am so proud of, their father died 4 years ago and I miss sharing my pride with him but we get by and are very close.
I have been stuck with an inner rage since just over a year ago my eldest son who is 30 had a seizure and was diagnosed with a brain tumour, he has never smoked or drank and was just a month away from a 4 year degree in counselling because he always wanted to help people. I cannot believe I have been dished out yet more agony of watching my beautiful child suffer the most cruel cancer, it seems to me every good thing in my life is taken away and now I have to watch him go through such pain, radiotherapy and sickness. It is all so hard. I wonder what I did to deserve this and if everything that matters is going to be taken. I am angry, afraid to Love, distant from my friends and hurt my people that were supposed to be friends.

The doctors tell us his tumour cannot be cured and it will kill him eventually but all the way through I have a very strong mothers Love, gut feeling that he is going to be ok, I try to hold onto that but sometimes its buried under all the pain in my heart. Please help me find my way through this hell <3

I am almost 50 and have not had an easy life, my father commited suicide on Christmas Day, when I was 2 and this tragedy seems to have become the theme to my life, don’t get me wrong I am aware that my suffering has given me great gifts of understanding and kindness to others but I am so tired now after being abused in childhood and all the years it took to find a positive growing attitude to that I believed I am here to turn ‘shit into flowers’ I have 3 beautiful kind sons that have or are growing into very decent men I am so proud of, their father died 4 years ago and I miss sharing my pride with him but we get by and are very close.

Shez - Thank you for sharing a bit of yourself with me, I am truly honored. I am practically jumping up and down in my seat wanting to tell you that THIS is the perfect time in your life for your unfoldment. You are in the nascent moments of your second life. Women, co-ruled by biology, often spend the first part of their lives in service to family. So it is. YOUR life is just beginning and you're right on time. I encourage you to let go of the judgment around your perception of where you are, they are just ideas and beliefs. Most of them probably aren't yours either. With regard to identifying your true purpose, you cannot fight or rush the river, but you can flow with it. Be curious, open and willing. Snatch just 5 or 10 minutes from your day to listen to the space deep within (picture the area 2 inches below your navel and dead center in your core). Expect nothing, listen, send it love. You're awareness is the first and biggest step in discovering the magic you were created for, be still, rest and love yourself. The mists will lift, the ways will reveal themselves so long as you run on love.

Stay close, I'll be writing more about this. This is a beautiful moment in time. Let it be alright.

Cynthia,
Today, this brought tears to my eyes... and touched me deeply down in my soul. I toast the other two comments and re-echo Steve's sincerely. You have a gift. Thank you so much for sharing it!
I feel this sacred ache stronger than ever now. I have single-handely brought my two boys to adulthood and find myself in a place of new opportunity. Between jobs (medical necessity) with a little time and space to turn and tune inward to be able to bring life to this ache, and I find myself stuck. A little rusty at living this path...I find it difficult to clearly identify my true purpose and get to the next stage of expressing the gifts I was uniquely created to give. As I intuit you already understand... this intensifies the ache almost unbearably. With no evident "path" on which to pour my energies I feel paralyzed and directionless. Not to mention, a half a lifetime late for this identification stage.
Please tell me there is a magic solution, or even a simple muggle one.

Steve,

Thank you. I really needed to hear that. I've felt uncomfortable about turning away from universal or male oriented subjects. My life now is wholly focused on women and the feminine, it's the subject of my book (to be released 8/15/12), and it brings me more joy than anything else. I love my male readers and many of them have supported me since 2009. I feel a great sense of gratitude and loyalty to them. It makes me feel better about it when I hear this from you.

Thank you so much,

Cynthia

Penny!

Thank you for this wonderful quote. I have never seen it before. I'm posting it and part of your comment (with credit to you of course) to the Facebook page right now. I love it. Discovering that femininity and power are synonymous was such a relief to me. I spent much time striving to march my way through life as a warrior because I too felt that I couldn't get where I wanted to go any other way. It was simply exhausting.

Thank you for your clarity and brilliance.
